Summer Loving 2019

Image
Since we are officially into summer, I decided to share the things I'm loving. Binge Worthy Television Kingdom A historical drama that centers around a zombie epidemic that was caused by greed and corruption.  The cinematography and art direction are simply divine. The plot twist in the last few minutes of the season finale had my jaw on the floor. The show continues to prove that South Korea is a leader in horror filmmaking. I could talk about this show for hours.  Dead to Me What I love about this show is highlights the many facets of grief. I have not seen many shows besides Six Feet Under that really dive into ugliness, awkwardness and the guilt of grief. Nor have I seen a show from both sides of grief, the ones in mourning and the ones who caused the grief. A quirky gem.  When They See Us Heartbreaking, riveting and timely mini-series directed by the sublime Ava Duvernay. This show is not for the faint of heart, if it might cause some triggers plea...

There are only a few weeks left of summer. Only a few more weeks of barbecues, lazy days at the beach, chilling by the lake, eating funnel cake near a Ferris wheel and chasing fireflies on your back porch. Just a few more weeks to create wonderful summer memories. This summer was an enlightening one for me. I traveled a lot and got to spend  good amount of time understanding myself. Here are a few things that peaked my interest over this wonderful season. Must Read: The Love Interest What happens when two boys vying for the affection of girl fall in love themselves? Cale Dietrich's first novel is funny, romantic, daring and sexy. I could not put it down. A great way to start my summer reading series. Must Watch: Big Little Lies I know I am a few months late, but Big Little Lies is incredible. The score, the cinematography, editing, the acting, the writing and the direction are all outstanding. Sometimes I feel that TV is miles ahead of film. Reclaiming my time: ...
