My Life in Photos

Image
I cannot believe that we are are in the middle of November. The year is almost over and one chapter of my life is coming to a close. By December I will have completed all of my courses to be eligible to graduate from my Master program. I just have to pass my comprehension exam and I will be a Master in Cinema Studies. Someone pinch me. While trying to succeed as a graduate student, I have been negligent with the upkeep of this blog. There were so many moments I wished I shared. Since it would be impossible now to do separate blog posts of those precious moments, here is my life in photos. The London Bridge is not the Tower Bridge

Image
I arrived in London with empty pockets and low spirits. Not my wisest decision since the city is soul crushing expensive. I was anxious about my time there since I had only figured out where I was going to be staying for the first four days. I was on a mission, to make the most of my time there and finally see Adele. After one night at a hostel in Tottenham, I made my way to West Green for my next accommodation.  That night, I learnt some devastating news- Adele had cancelled her last two shows. My fantasies of drowning in my tears as I sang along to "Rolling in the Deep" while confetti kissed my hair was vanquished. After swallowing my self pity, I wanted to make my next day as memorable as possible. This would not be a day I sulk in bed because Adele lost her voice. I was going to be as touristic as possible. I decided to head down to the London Bridge.  I will admit I was a bit gobsmacked when I saw the bridge. It was not how I...

St Roach Market

Image
I last day in New Orleans had  finally arrived. We had to check out of our Airbnb in the morning and we all had early afternoon flights. To pass time we decided to grab brunch at St. Roach Market. It was a short walk from our accommodations. I must admit, I was quite impressed. There was a wide variety to choose from.  I decided to go with Elysian Seafood and I ordered their Louisiana Crab Cake.   Hands down the best meal I had during my entire time in New Orleans. It was one scrumptious bite after another. The next time I come back to NOLA, I will definitely be making a pit stop to St. Roach Market.   Upcoming: My next adventure will be in London. Make sure you stop by to see all the joys and heartbreak I had being in London.

Three Nights in Nola: Brunch and Gators

Image
A feast for kings  It was our last full day in New Orleans and we wanted to make sure we went out with a bang. What could be more Louisiana than good food, gators and jazz. We started our day right with breakfast at Cafe Fleu De Lis. gang is all here I opted for the Creole Country Breakfast that allowed me a chance to try boudin. Boudin is a sausage that is stuffed with pork rice dressing. It was interesting, not particularly life changing. I also got a side of banana pecan pancakes and a chocolate iced coffee. Honestly, I feel that the chocolate iced coffee was finished as soon as it was put in front of me. It was that good. capturing a selfie After brunch one of our members had to bid as farewell. We said our goodbyes and the rest of us headed to the swamp to take a look at the gators. Once again, the lyft driver reminded us how lovely the people of New Orleans are. Southern hospitality is a real thing and it is beautiful.  I envisioned us being on air...

Three Nights in Nola: Jazz and Beignets

Image
Our first day in New Orleans was  a complete success. Minus the humidity and heavy rain, I was in love with the Crescent City. Our second day was jammed pack with activities, I am shocked that I managed to keep up. It was a Sunday, out of all the days we were there it was the sunniest day. We started the day off at Cafe du Monde. Where we got to try the famous Beignets. The line was ridiculously long, but the wait was not long at all. Beignets tasted like funnel cake, it was delicious but I could only stomach two of them.

Three Nights in Nola: Day One

Image
After being inside the world for three fabulous decades, I decided it was about time for me to celebrate my life. My sister and I headed down to the Big Easy with two of our best gals to welcome ourselves to the 30 year old club. Our trip to New Orleans began bright and early on Saturday morning. After checking into our Airbnb and resting for a few hours, we decided it was time to check out the city. Our first stop was to Ruby Slippers for brunch. I started my day off with a mimosa and 3 Little Pig Omelette. 3 Little Pit Omelette with fresh fruits and biscuits.  I will have to admit that was one damn good omelette. Once we were done eating, we heading down to the Marriott to pick up the last passenger on our trip. Once our group was complete we headed to the French Quarters. I had to look as fabulous as the city made me feel.   The French Quarters was surreal. It was building after building, of vibrant colors and beautiful architecture. Each building was drip...
