Confessions From A Black Rose

Prepare yourself for perfection. I am having heart palpitations as we speak right now. Earlier today the fabulous Will Smith returned to The Graham Norton Show. He pulled out all stops bringing DJ Jazzy Jeff and Alfonso Ribeiro on the stage. I have died and gone to heaven. Now it's time for y'all to follow me to the afterlife. 

This is a continuation of my previous post . We are down to the final two, Candice and Kree. This has been my dream finale since the Vegas rounds. Candice's voice is like a musical instrument. She plays with it like it's a saxophone. She has great musicality,  her performance of Lovesong and You've Changed are standouts. I never once doubted she would be in the top 2. If she wins on Thursday it will be a well deserved win. I hope she releases a jazz infused album. You do not understand how much I need that album in my life. I hope this is the direction she takes her talent. She is too talented to not be successful. If anyone questions whether she deserves to be in the top 2, they need to have their ears cleaned. I had every intention of recording a video log about this topic but alas my flipcam went to video heaven. I've tried everything under the blue moon but it won't turn on. That is why I'm writing my thoughts down instead of verbalizing them in an awesome video. Since the topic was originally intended for video purposes it will be split into two parts. I know y'all been itching to find out what songs I have currently on repeat. Here are some are my favorite tracks right. Do yourself a favor and listen. 1. Mariah Carey ft. Miguel- #Beautiful Mariah is back with a vengeance. She is going to be snatching wigs this summer. I have been waiting for her to return to this sound since Emancipation of Mimi . 2. Zedd ft. Foxes- Clarity I was able to purchase this tune for free last year on Itunes. When I was at a hookah lounge, I heard this song on the radio for the first time. I fall in love and remembered I owned it. Probably my favorite song on the radio right now. 3. Icona Pop- I Love It I don't care, I love it! 4. This is the first attack in Libyan capital since the revolution. This is the second major attack on a foreign embassy since the fatal attack on the American embassy back in September.  At least 187 people have died in the Nigerian northeastern state of Borno. When I was a senior in college I wrote a letter to my future daughter  for a class. Even though there were certain topics that I was supposed to address my letter was organic and heartfelt. As I look at the world around me I have no doubt in my mind that I will raise a strong independent female. She will be encourage to be honest, opinionated and a little warrior.  I know that things will never be easy for her but I am confident that I will give her a great foundation to handle all the punches. With each moment I get concerned for the welfare of my unborn son. What I'm Watching: Shameless This may be the third season of Shameless but it's the best season yet. Laughter, tears and OMG moments every episode keeps me hanging on.  What I'm Reading: Born Under a Million Shadows by Andrea Busfield This funny, informative and touching first effort by Andrea Busfield is a must read. One of the best books I have read in a long time. What I'm Listening to: My Head is an Animal by Of Monsters and Men This record is simply perfection.  Do yourself a favor and get this record.  What I'm Drinking: Apothic Red Apothic Red is a blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is absolutely delicious. What I'm Working On : Screenplay Besides being an active blogger I am a blossoming screenwriter. I even took a screenwriting course earlier this year.
