Today I will be presenting breaking news across the African continent. I will be keeping up to date with the Ebola Outbreak on my blog but I wanted to focus my attention on other news today. There is some good news coming out about the fight against Ebola. The Sierra Leone government is reporting that British effort to fight against the outbreak has been a "game changer". News coming out of Liberia is the spread of Ebola is slowing down. I am hopeful that things will turn around in the next couple of months.

Burkina Faso
When news broke out that constitutional changes would allow President Compaoré to extend his presidency for five more years, all hell broke loose. Police were firing tear gas at protesters. Today protesters set ablaze the parliament, the city hall and the ruling party headquarters. For all those that do not know President Compaoré has been president of  Burkina Faso for long as I been alive. That is no exaggeration, he really has been president for 27 years.

Zambia
President Michael Sata (King Cobra) passed away this week in a hospital in London. The Zambian Vice-President Guy Scott has been named acting leader. Scott is the first white leader in 20 years. 

Malawi
Near Liwonde National Park 9 people were trampled to death by elephants. 
Kenya
40,000 Kenyans are suing Britain (yes, Great Britain) over "allegations" they were tortured by colonial forces in the 1950's. 
Somalia
At least 3 million people in Somalia are in need of humanitarian aid and the country is threatened with famine. If you remember, they suffered a devastating famine back in 2011. In that famine over 250,000 people died. 
Ivory Coast
An Ivorian man was sentenced to a year in jail for trying to arranged a marriage between his 11 year old daughter to his 27 year old cousin.  
Mali
In northern Mali, a French solider  was killed during a clash between French soldiers and Islamist militants. His death raises the number of  French soldiers killed to 10 since France intervened in January 2013. It is reported that around 20 Islamist militants were killed in the clash as well. 
Tunisia
In case you do not know, Tunisia had a historic election. It was the first election for  parliament under the new constitution. Nidaa Tounes secularist party won 85 seats in the parliament.

 *Since I first published this post, President Compaore has officially stepped down. In the past 24 hours, there has been a power struggle in the governement with two different officials claiming power.

The List: The Sexiest Men 2013 Edition

It is becoming a little bit of a tradition here on Confessions that during the month of love I unveil my list of men that continue to rock my world. Considering how successful my last list was the only responsible thing for me to do is officially declare that this tradition will live on. If you are curious to see how last year's list differed from this year here it is  My Little Valentines . This year my list is a little different. First of all, it did not feel right to narrow it down to 100. So below you will see a list composed of 110 men. I have included men that not only I find incredibly good looking but men that have enamored me with their talent and their wit. My list is in alphabetical order besides my top ten. If there is an asterisk behind their name that means they are newbies to the list. Let me know who you think is incredibly good looking.

What Can You Do Now?

This past week has been a dark chapter in American history. Over 100,000 American lives were lost to COVID-19.  On Memorial Day, in the city of Minneapolis George Floyd was murdered by four police officers. His death sparked a nation wide outrage. If you would like to know the ways you can support the movement please take a look at this website.  https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#   It will give you ways you can help. You can sign petitions, donate, find contact information for officials in Minneapolis and find out ways to participate in peaceful protests.  This would also be a good time to register to vote, if you have not done so already. Besides remaining informed, I would advise you all to take care of your health during this difficult time. Make sure you take time to remain both physically and mentally strong.  Keep yourself hydrated. Take your vitamins. Meditate. Pray. Find ways to find joy. It is also a good time to reach out to love ones.  Be safe and be kind to yourself.
