This is the Remix
This is my favorite time of the year when I sprinkle my blog with my songs that I absolutely adore.
1. Alphabeat- The spell
Those who are fans of my blog know that I am a Alphabeat fan. This song is so infectious. I freaking love the male lead singer. He is so adorable hitting his tambourine. I just want to put him in my pocket. Gosh, I wish I was that carefree on the dance floor.
2. Mika- Kick Ass
Oh how I love Mika, once again this is old news. Heard this song for the first time at my gym. He is so freaking fierce. Love him!!!!
3. Juanes- La Camisa Negra
I heard this song years ago but for some reason I cannot get it out of my head. My Spanish sucks so I am not sure what the song is about. For some weird reason whenever I hear this song I daydream about being serenaded by some Antonio Banderas look alike named Carlos. Fun times.
4. Erick Hassle- Hurtful
Thank you iTunes for introducing me to an amazing artist. He has a James Morrison vibe to him. He has not really taken off here but he really should be a staple on every one's shuffle. Cool fact his Swedish.
5. Lady Gaga- Alejandro
I have been in love with this song since October. I felt like a kid in a candy store when I realized it was gonna be her next single. A little disappointed that it has not really lived up to its potential. On the video, controversial yes but brilliant. The video definitely pays homage to Vogue, Express Yourself and Like a Prayer. I love the fact that she is in control of her sexuality here. I applaud Lady Gaga for addressing taboo topics in her video like don't ask don't tell policy. Sad fact the dancers in this video out heel me. I don't look that fierce in heels at all. I walk like Frankenstein. They got to teach me how to work those heels. Next to my boys(Backstreet that is), She is someone who has cannot do no wrong in my book, at least musically. Its a little premature I know considering how new in the pop game she is. Anyways this is my favorite song.
6. Tina Turner- We Don't Need Another Hero
I wrote an entire post inspired by this song but I do not believe I ever shared the video with you. It's one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. Tina Turner is force to be reckoned with. Her vocals are on point in this song. My favorite part of this song& video is the sax interlude. Tim Cappello is my musical crush, I can be in a crowded elevator and I still find myself imitating him when the interlude comes on. It can get embarrassing but how can you not get funky at that part. Video was during the good old days when Mel Gibson was still fine not crazy, racist or anti-semantic. Oh the good old days.
7. Camp Cucamonga
This song is my childhood. Good times, Good times
