Songs of the Summer

It has happened everyone, summer has come to an end. Now that we are in the final stretches, I am trying to make the most of my summer. In the next couple of days I will be attending the Budweiser's Made in America Festival. It should be crazy but fun couple of days. I will be posting all about my adventures at my first music festival in my next post. Once again, time has arrived for me to share music with y'all. Here are some of my favorite tunes this summer. Let me know what songs you had on repeat this summer.

 1. Capital Cities- Safe and Sound

This song was definitely my jam this summer. It took me to a magical place full of rainbows and unicorns. What can I say, I am quite whimsical. It's so darn infectious and I am so happy that it is becoming popular.

2. Walk off the Earth-Red Hands

I am beyond obessed with this song. One of the songs everyone should have on their playlist.

3. The Wanted- We Own The Night

This song more than makes up for monstrosity that was Walks like Rihanna. Welcome back boys to me good graces.

4. Passenger: Let Her Go

Love is not a strong word to describe how I feel about this song. Hear that folks, this is real music.

5. Avicii:-Wake Me Up

This song really hits close to home. One of the songs I listen to when I get in my funk.

6. Lana Del Rey- Summertime Sadness
Lana never fails to amaze me. Sadness in this song is unbelievable. The music video is complete perfection. I am happy she has a hit on her hands stateside. Even if its the dance version to this incredible song.

Interesting list of songs. You touched on a few that are growing in popularity which I can appreciate. One song you're missing, started off strong then kinda fell, is #Beautiful by MC ft. Miguel. It was a new sound for both artists, whom I love individually, and together they created magic - Warm like the summer breeze.

Moving on, starting fresh

I DID IT! I graduated college! All the sleepless nights, pulling of the hair and crying myself to sleep have paid off, I now have my college diploma. Now that I have ended one successful chapter in my life I am looking forward to embarking on the next one. I am looking forward to igniting the flame inside of me and turning it into a full blown bonfire. I am not sure what the future holds but I cannot wait to find out. When I was five I never thought I was going to live in Tunisia or Mozambique for that matter. I never would have imagined that if I put my mind to it I could study abroad in Australia nor did i think I would go to college in upstate New York. I have done so pretty much amazing things but I still want to do more. I want to see the world, get touched spiritually and emotionally by incredible individuals, hopefully bring joy to all of those around me, laugh more, cry less, regret less, write more, cook more and live each day to its fullest. He doesn't even need to ask

Over a month ago, I watched the absolutely beautiful My Own Private Idaho . I had a bit of a revelation after watching the film. Which is kind of interesting because it has nothing to do with the themes that were brought up in the film. If you have not watched My Own Private Idaho , I suggest that you check it out. It is hauntingly beautiful and River Phoenix is such a beautiful soul. Anyways, back to the topic of my post. I was thinking about how beautiful Keanu Reeves looked in the movie and how he could seriously get it. Jokingly I said to myself that "he doesn't even need to ask". Then a light bulb went off in my head. What exactly was I insinuating by that remark. Was I suggesting that because he was so attractive he does not need to ask for my permission to have sexual relations with me? After much thought, I realized that was what I was suggesting.
