Peanut Butter-Oatmeal Rounds

All the ingredients you will need
One of the things that brings me a lot of joy in life is cooking. Looking back at all of my blog posts, I was shocked that I have never shared that side of me. To my loyal blog readers, you are in for a treat because this post is the first of many cooking posts. Over the weekend, while I was home alone I decided to make myself a delicious treat. Inspired by a recipe I found in the Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book, I choose to make my own version of their Peanut Butter- Oatmeal Rounds.

Ingredients
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 F(190 C)

2. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for about 30 seconds or until combined. If you do not have an electric mixer, a whisk gets the job done as well.
Step Two
3. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Beat until combined, scarping sides of bowl occasionally.
Step Three
4. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
Step Four
5. Gradually pour the flour into the bowl. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer.
Step Five
6. Stir in rolled oats and chocolate pieces. You can substitute raisins or peanuts if you are not too keen on chocolate.
Step Six
This is how the finished dough looks like

7. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons( the actual teaspoon from you flatware not the measuring spoons) 2 inches apart( 5 cm) onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes or until edges are light brown.
Step Seven
8. When the cookies are done transfer to wire rack to cool down.
Cookies are cooled and ready to serve

Delicious! And what's awesome about them is that they can be eaten at all times of the day! Even breakfast thanks to the oatmeal...
