That's a Wrap

Now that Memorial Weekend is upon us(well at least here in the USA), summer has officially began. Which means that May sweeps is coming to a close as our favorite television shows bid as adieu until the fall. It won't be all bad since True Blood(HBO) returns June 10. I have suspicion it will be a good as the first two seasons this year. My guilty pleasure Awkward(MTV)  also returns next month. Now sit back and relax as I take you on a journey of the high, the lows and big old hot messes of the 2011-2012 Television season. The Walking Dead, AMC The Goods: The producers were not kidding when they said the second half of the season would be action packed. I was on the edge of my seat every single episode. Not to mention I got misty-eyed during the epic conclusion of my favorite bromance. You knew it was imminent but it still was gut-wrenching to witness. Each character continued to evolve and it was beautiful to watch. How this new life was harde...

It's a Big F@#$ing Deal!

Just moments ago President Obama became the first seating president to publicly endorse same-sex marriage. In the words of Vice President Joe Biden this is a big f@#$ing deal! Unless you are living under a rock, everyone is aware that the topic of same-sex marriage is hot button in the United States. Just earlier this week North Carolina passed the Marriage Protection Amendment which bans same-sex marriage in the state. Since apparently two people of the same- sex getting married  threatens the sanctity  of marriage. Already Fox News has accused President Obama of declaring war on marriage. I guess the "War on Christmas" was not sufficient enough for him. Now I will be the first to admit that I was shocked President Obama  publicly took a stance on Marriage Equality especially in the beginning of his reelection campaign. I always knew that he would take this position but I thought he would do so if and after he won ...

Cries of a Broken Soul

First of all, I am  not too sure what this post will be about. When I blog it is usually about issues that piss me off, videos that make me laugh or to share my art. There are several thoughts floating in my head but none seem executed enough for a full blog post. I can inform you that in the next couple of weeks I will post my first video log, my second installment in the War on Women series and my spring TV wrap up. Now lets see what will happen if I just write as a process of healing. What wonders will I discover? Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly. Lanston Hughes The older I get the more I realize how much I know and how much more I have yet to learn. This fact does not bother me anymore because I know that besides life being one daring adventure it is also a test, a live performance, the final event. You get no dress rehearsals, no practice exams and absolutely no warm ups. This life is all that you get an...

Some Really Good Stuff: Song of the Week

Here is a beautiful song  by an underrated band Hurts . I hope you enjoy because I am mesmerized by this song.

Writer's Block

Emptiness No words, no thoughts, no pain There is nothing left of me on this page What will it take for these buried words to bleed upon this page? Will I have to lie? Emptiness That is all that remains on this surface Hours go by but no brush strokes Frustration  Floods my soul As I try to rectify the mistakes from yesterday Broken promises Are all that I am good for Is that why the words fail to assemble? Panic Consumes me As I fear they may never form What if The damage is never revealed Will I always be broken? Breathe These thoughts have bleed before They will flow once more Emptiness That is all the remains on this surface No words, no thoughts, no pain What will it take for these buried words to bleed upon this page? Will I have to die?

Skittles and Iced Tea

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"  Martin Luther King Jr  On February 26, a 17 year old boy by name of Trayvon Martin was shot in the chest on his way home from buying a bag of skittles and iced tea for his younger brother. He was killed by a neighborhood watch member by the name of George Zimmerman who was twice his size, convinced that Trayvon was up to no good or on drugs.  When the police arrived Zimmerman told them that he acted in self defense. The police took his word and no arrest was made nor did they administer drug and alcohol test to Zimmerman. Over a month later it appears that not all was what it seemed on that fateful February night. The more information that was released the more that the pieces did not fit anymore. There is evidence that suggest at least one witness statements was altered. This has lead people to question the conduct of the Sanford police in the shooting investigation. It is learned that Zimmerman ...
