Billie - She Wants You

Image
When I was a preteen there were three musical acts that I was obsessed with:  Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and this lovely lady Billie Piper. I did like Britney Spears as well but I just loved Billie. When I yearn for the good old days, the days listening to Billie always makes me smile. How simple things were in retrospect. One thing to know about me is that I am a loyal fan. I will follow your career no matter where it might lead. For example, I have followed Billie Piper's acting career. So happy that she has found success. Most people don't even know that she was a singer prior to being Rose in Doctor Who.

Four Years of Awesomeness

Image
Four years ago in Tasmania I would like to take the time to celebrate a huge milestone in my blogging career. This week makes it officially four years since I posted my first blog post. I did not know what to expect or where my journey of blogging would take me. My senior year had just began and I had just come from a fabulous study aboard in Australia. There was so much uncertainty about my future, what I was going to be doing  and where I was going to be at. I needed a personal space where I could be me and the uncertainties would cease to be.  If  a girl friend of mine had not suggested that I create a blog, Confessions may never have been born. When I first started blogging I admit that there were some things I was a little to eager to share and that I was not too open about other things. Just like any other form of writing, it takes a few tries until you find your voice. I am happy to report that my voice is nice and strong. Here is to four more years of aw

Wonderwall: London 2012

The final medals have been handed out. The flames have gone out and the torch has been passed to Rio. It is official, London 2012 has come to a close. What a glorious Olympics it has been. I cannot remember in the history of the Olympics have I witness so much glory. It is official I want to move to London. Thanks for that, I already have a laundry list of cities to live in. I have to give a big standing ovation to London for hosting a fantastic Olympics. Now I look forward to Rio and the memories that will be created there. I am sure after those games I will want to visit Rio. At least the FIFA World Cup will be in two years and I can get back to rooting for teams. I have to give a big props to Kim Gavin for directing a spectacular Closing Ceremony. There were so many highlights from the ceremony but my favorite goes to the original  Fab Five: The Spice Girls . I am still bitter that I missed it but lucky to find the performance online. No seriously, they shut the whole place down.

I still cannot believe I missed the Spice Girls last night. I wanted to see them on my TV screen. I have been waiting for their performance at the closing ceremony ever since it was announced that they would be performing. To numb my blues I decided to indulge in my nostalgia. Here is a clip from Spice World . If I do find a video of their performance, I will share it with y'all.

Chariots of Fire: London 2012

On the eve of the 2012 Summer Olympics , my excitement was at a fever pitch. I have never been so excited about the Olympics my entire life. Maybe it was because it was in London or maybe it was because I needed something to look forward to. Whatever the reason, London 2012 have consumed my energy since  the opening ceremony. I have to give mad props to Danny Boyle for concocting a  fantastic opening ceremony. I loved how it paid to homage to the different eras of Great Britain. My favorite part was the transition to the Industrial revolution. Obviously Mr. Bean being apart of the opening ceremony was legendary. You can't celebrate UK without acknowledging the comedic genius that is Mr. Bean. Unfortunately I did not see all of the opening ceremony but how fabulous were the Independent Athletes. When the games were underway my love for swimming and gymnastics remained. I have a new swimming crush, Chad Le Clos. He made all of Africa proud when he won the Gold against Michel P
