Where's The Dad?

Award season has finally come to an end after a spectacular season. Last night was the 83rd annual Academy Awards. This year I went all out. I had a drink and Oscar ready snacks on hand. There was very few surprise wins but I felt that the Academy got it right. For the most part I guessed accurately the winners for the ceremony. I was pleasantly surprised when Tom Hopper won Best Director. I thought since he is pretty much a new figure in movie world he would not win over veterans like David Fincher . I was ecstatic when The King's Speech won Best Picture. Bow down to King Firth!!!! The incredible, flawless and charming man won Best Actor. I would have loved to see him break out in a little dance. Heck, I would have done a back flip if I won. I pretty much sure if I was videotaped during his win, I would have made those boys jumping on their bed after Miss Philippines made it to the top 15 during Miss Universe seem unenthusiastic. Breakdown: One of the biggest mistakes I made

This is How We Do

So my sister introduced me to this clip. It had me hollering with laughter. Once I watched it I felt compelled to share it with the world. It already is popular but still it doesn't hurt to get the word out. This is the African remix(specifically Nigerian) to the Wiz Khalifa song Black & Yellow. It is hilarious.

What is this Feeling I'm Feeling

I'm not someone that gets emotional while watching films. All of my life films have been an escape for me from harsh realities. In a weird way they made me feel connected to the world from a distance. I was never the person who walked out of a movie cinema bawling my eyes out. Usually I experience a lot of joy from watching a good film. The subject matter did not have to be on a light topic for joy to spring from my soul, usually it was on darker matters. I can get rowdy from a really good fight scene or feel empowered by a character's actions. I can be scared out of my mind, frustrated or blissfully happy. Last night I experienced emotions that I have never felt my entire life or maybe I chose to ignore them. After watching The Social Network I had a deep respect for Andrew Garfield as an actor. I made me feel everything his character was feeling, so naturally I wanted to see his previous performances. So I had watched the trailers for Boy A and it intrigued me. I had a sick

On a Serious Note

I lived in Tunisia for two years, the last two years of high school. It was interesting for me to live in a country that had so many influences. There was an African, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean presence everywhere you went. Never did I imagine that President Ben Ali would step down from his presidency. When elections took place the ballots were color coded, so no one took the risk to vote for the opposition. People were advised not to speak ill of the president because any sort of opposition was crushed. I realized that there was frustration with the leadership but for many it seemed that they were content with the situation. Tunisia was developing at a rapid speed and they were one of the few African nations that did not rely on foreign products. They produced everything themselves, it was wonderful to see. Still to this day I will say Tunisia had the best canned tuna fish and olive oil in the whole wide world. Anyways I am going off track. Earlier this year President Ben Ali

First Day of Oscars my true love gave to me

The biggest night of the year for filmmakers and movie lovers has finally arrived. The night where Hollywood honors the best films of the past year. This year the winners appear to be locked in with very few surprises. Now is my time to predict who will be taking home the golden statue. Best Picture: The King's Speech In the beginning of Award season it appeared that the Social Network was the film to beat. Late in the hour The King's Speech began to take over the awards. There is still a possibility that The Social Network will win but I believe that the Academy will give the honor to The King's Speech. Best Director: David Fincher for The Social Network (TSN) Even though he lost Director's Guild Award to Tom Hopper I believe that Fincher will win this one. Best Actress: Natalie Portman for Black Swan I believe that this is Natalie's to win but I believe that Jennifer Lawrence could possibly pull an Adrien Broday upset. Best Actor: Colin Firth for T

Oh to be Young

So last night I began to have a 90's party on my laptop. It was great, I was transported to my middle school days in Abidjan. One song got stuck in my head and I needed to find it. When I found it I was in music paradise. As soon as the song started to play I got misty eyed. Made me realize how much time has passed. Is my life the way I imagined it would be when I was 12? Did I change for better or worse? There is something about the dance music of the 90's. It was so carefree and all about a good time. You just found yourself being transported to another dimension. A place where life isn't as hard as it is. Things just make sense, you don't have to worry about your consequences of your actions or what tomorrow may bring. You don't have to worry about your classmates. Everything negative in life dissolves. This video makes me laugh. The song itself appears to be so innocent but throughout the video the cartoon girls panties are showing and their enormous breast are

My friends will tell you I go through phases of celebrity crushes. Nick Carter, Josh Hartnett, Paul Walker, Ginuwine, Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Rob Brown, Shemar Moore, Channing Tatum, Chris Evans, Garrett Hedlund, Terrence Howard, Shia La Boeuf, Alexander Skarsgard, Joseph Gordon Levitt have at one time in my life had me giggling like a 12 year old girl. By December I had added new man on my Roman Grant size list of hubbies, the adorable and talented Kyle Riabko. People who watch 90210(the new one) know him as the flawless bitch Ian. I absolutely adore him. I always see different magazines coming out with their list of the most beautiful or the sexist people and I thought way not share my list with the masses. Without further adieu my flawless list. 12. Mark Sailing/Darren Criss Mark is just so sexy that is ridiculous. When Darren sings I melt, what can I say he's dreamy. 11. Adam Beach GORGEOUS!!!! 10. Shemar Moore UNF. Involuntary sounds came out of my mouth whenever I watch Crim
