Fall: 'Tis the Season of New Beginnings

The past few weeks have been insane. I have lost all concept of time and somehow, September crept up on me. Later on, I will delve into what has taken up my time. I am not upset about September's quick arrival. After all, it is the beginning of 2014-2015 television season. I can look forward to pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider donuts. In a few days, my nephew will be born and my brother will have gotten married. 

Later on this month, I will have a full recap of all the wedding festivities (wedding takes place in Cape Cod) and the craziness that takes place shooting an independent film (why I no longer know what day it is). In the meantime, please have a listen to my favorite song of the moment Habits (Stay High) by Tove Lo.

I cannot believe that we are are in the middle of November. The year is almost over and one chapter of my life is coming to a close. By December I will have completed all of my courses to be eligible to graduate from my Master program. I just have to pass my comprehension exam and I will be a Master in Cinema Studies. Someone pinch me. While trying to succeed as a graduate student, I have been negligent with the upkeep of this blog. There were so many moments I wished I shared. Unprecedented: Ebola Outbreak 2014

This post has been a long time coming, to be honest I have been avoiding writing it. Four years ago, I made my first visit to my parent's home country Liberia. It was an interesting experience that I chronicled in my previous blog posts. If you click on the Liberia label, you can read all about my adventures in Liberia.  During my time in Liberia, I saw a country that was emerging from a devastating civil war. It was a country with a bright future ahead of it. Never would I imagine that a few years later, the country would be facing another crisis. Last December, the first case of Ebola was reported in Guinea. Nearly one year later, there has been a reported 8,399 cases (as of October 10) that has affected seven nations: Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, United States, Spain, Senegal and Nigeria.  The majority of these cases are in three West African countries: Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
